Fiona Kastrop ist Medienkünstlerin, Filmemacherin und Teil der Freien Theaterszene. Sie studierte Szenische Künste und Medienkunst und war als Inspizientin und Regieassistentin mehrere Jahre fest am Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam engagiert. Sie bewegt sich mit ihren Arbeiten zwischen Performance, Installation und experimentellem Dokumentarfilm. Dabei erforscht sie seltsame Landschaften, Wahrnehmung und Erinnerung, Prozesse, Chaos und Ordnung, Schichten und Ausschnitte. Es geht um Sichtbares und Unsichtbares – digitale Welten, aber genauso um Schere, Stift und Papier. 2023 erhielt sie zusammen mit FangSheng Chou und Katharina Mänz das Recherchestipendium des Thüringer Theaterverbandes im Künstlerhaus Thüringen, Schloss Kannawurf. Im Jahr 2024 war sie Teil der Werkleitz Masterclass in Halle (Saale). In diesem Jahr wird ihre Konzeptentwicklung „Eine Teilgesamtheit“ von der Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Thüringen durch ein Stipendium unterstützt.

Fiona Kastrop is a Media Artist working with Film and Media- Installations as well as theatre and performance. She graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Media Art and Design at Bauhaus University Weimar and a Bachelors Degree in Scenic Arts at the University of Hildesheim, where she majored in contemporary theatre, media and cultural policy.
She is a freelance director, assistant director, stage manager and dramaturgical assistent for theatre collectives and in different film contexts next to her own artistic work. In 2023 she took part at the residency programme by the Thuringian Theatre Association together with FangSheng Chou and Katharina Mänz. In 2024 she was part of the Werkleitz Masterclass in Halle (Saale). In 2025 she got a scholarship by the Kulturstiftung Thüringen.
Until starting her artistic and academic education she was part of the Ensemble at Hans Otto Theater Potsdam in the position of a Stage Manager and Assistant Director for four years, that followed a yearlong Internship in Prop Design at the same house.
